Description:

The Group Leader will be responsible for the overall daily supervision/functioning of planned program activities as well as the well being of approximately 25 participants of the after school program.

Responsibilities:

  • assist participants with homework
  • assist in the development of appropriate social skills
  • distribute snack
  • participate in ongoing monthly meetings and trainings
  • engage participants in club activities such as drama, art, dance, gym etc
  • ensure the safety of participants
  • clean up after snack and at end of day
  • Complete required daily paperwork, including but not limited to “summary of the day.”

Qualifications:

 SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and be flexible
  • Energetic, outgoing and professional
  • Skilled at diffusing conflict
  • Organized
  • Experienced in work with Elementary School-aged children

Experience and affinity for working in under-resourced communities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

  • Some College Preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience working with children
  • Must be fingerprinted by NYS
  • Updated Physical Form
