Description:

Sharon Baptist is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Lead Teacher for one of our Bronx sites. We are looking for a caring, loving and energetic teacher who can inspire, motivate, and nurture our future leaders of tomorrow.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Teacher's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring the physical and psychological classroom is safe, nurturing and conducive to learning.
Implementing the Creative Curriculum and TSI GOLD Assessment System.
Understanding the alignment of the Creative Curriculum with the NYS Common Core for Preschool Objectives and HS Performance Standards.
Implementing Conscious Discipline model.
Providing targeted instruction and individualization for each child.
Attending and participating in I.E.P. meetings.
Analyzing child outcomes three times per year.
Creating outcomes action plans three times per year.
Communicating daily with parents and guardians.
Participating in ongoing staff development and self-reflection.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in ECE (Birth to Grade 2) and NYS Initial Certification (or certification in process).

Preferred: Master's Degree in ECE (Birth to Grade 2) and NYS Professional Certification (or certification in process).

Previous experience working with preschool aged children.

Salary is on ACS scale and varies according to credentials and certification status.

UPK Incentives apply for new Lead Teachers who are certified - $2,500 enhancement for new UPK Lead Teacher.
