Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Program Assistant will monitor the programmatic needs of program facility participants and assist in facilitation of overall program and operations.  The Program Assistant will supervise the program in the absence of the Program Director.

  • Assist in the development of  ongoing outreach and recruitment strategies for program participants, families and other community-based organizations
  • Prepare attendance documents for participants and record attendance into administrative systems
  • Promote and maintain an environment that will provide a positive experience for participants
  • Maintain all necessary records for preparing reports, budgets, surveys, etc.
  • Meet regularly with Program Director and evening staff to ensure a cohesive work environment and participate in projects with other Phipps Neighborhoods sites
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

Education

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

Required

  • Experience working in youth programs and group facilitation
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking)

Preferred

  • Enthusiasm, creativity and initiative
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Some college coursework
  • Computer literacy
