The ACS/CUNY Informal Family Child Care Project (IFCC) – a program of the New York Early Childhood Professional Development Institute endeavors to elevate the quality of care for children in home-based child care settings in New York City by assessing and supporting the needs of, advocating for and increasing the skills and capacity of home-based child care providers through the design and facilitation of an array of comprehensive professional development opportunities.
IFCC seeks a part-time early childhood trainer to facilitate professional development training for family child care providers in New York City.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in child development/early childhood education and adult education/training
- Knowledge of and experience in early childhood special education and/or working with children with special needs
- Experience in family child care or family engagement a plus
- Experience designing and facilitating training
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate people
Qualifications:
- BA in Early Childhood Education, Psychology or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education or related work
- Fluent in spoken and written Spanish (preferred)
- Currently possess or eligible for NYS Early Learning Trainer Credential
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
- NYS Health & Safety certification (preferred)
- Available evenings and weekends
- Able and willing to travel around the five boroughs of NYC
