The ANDRUS Early Learning Center’s thoughtfully structured childcare program is committed to the education of the whole child in the social, intellectual, physical, and emotional domains. The expansion of the program in early 2012 has enabled us to double the enrollment of the Center and add special services to infants, along with the toddlers and preschoolers up to the age of five who already attend.

Responsibilities:

~~ANDRUS Early Learning Center (AELC) is seeking Teacher Aides, Assistant Early Childhood Teachers and Early Childhood Head Teachers to join our dedicated team of early childhood professionals. AELC staff work with children from 6 weeks to 5 years old to meet the needs of the whole child. We focus on building positive relationships and a love for learning in our 12 month program. With the use of an emergent curriculum, the diverse population we serve is supported in their early development by a creative and engaging team. A positive attitude, strong interpersonal and communication skills, appreciation for diversity, love of children and knowledge of early childhood are essential to the job.

ANDRUS Eastchester After School Youth (EASY) program is seeking Per Diem After School Youth Counselors. The Counselor provides a nurturing and supportive environment to school-age children between the ages of 5 to 12 years old who participate in the program. The counselor supervises and creates a homelike, stimulating atmosphere where the children can pursue their interests in a safe and friendly setting. The positions days and hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The schedule for this position can be flexible.

A positive attitude, strong interpersonal and communication skills, appreciation for diversity, love of children and knowledge of early childhood are essential to the job.
The Teacher Aide works under the supervision of the Head Teacher to create a learning environment that fosters the physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth of the infants in our care. A qualified applicant will have an upbeat and collaborative approach with a genuine enthusiasm for work with children and a working knowledge for child development.   In addition, a qualified applicant will possess a High School Diploma and a minimum of two years working with children under 6. Proficiency in spoken and written English a must.
Full Time Assistant Teacher

AELC staff work with children from 6 weeks to 5 years old to meet the needs of the whole child. We focus on building positive relationships and a love for learning in our 12 month program. With the use of an emergent curriculum, the diverse population we serve is supported in their early development by a creative and engaging team. A positive attitude, strong interpersonal and communication skills, appreciation for diversity, love of children and knowledge of early childhood are essential to the job.
The Assistant Teacher’s work under the supervision of the Head Teacher to create a learning environment that fosters the physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth of the infants in our care. Per Diem After School Youth Counselor
ANDRUS Eastchester After School Youth (EASY) program is seeking a Per Diem After School Youth Counselor who is dependable and possess the ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children. A qualified applicant will have the ability to help elementary age children with homework and possess a minimum of 1 year hands on experience working with school-age children. The qualified applicant will possess a High School Degree or GED.
SUMMARY:
Applicants for all positions must be willing to hold a flexible schedule. Candidates must have an ability and desire to connect with our children, radiate a positive attitude and have a love of working with young children.
