Early Years Collaborative School Readiness Facilitator

South Bronx Rising Together is a cradle to career pipeline partnership to improve local schools, engage parents, bring resources to the community, and ensure children are on a pathway to college and career success. To be successful, the initiative will mobilize any and all actors in the South Bronx with a stake in student success to help achieve large-scale social change through shared goals and accountability. This will include residents, schools, community based organizations, health providers, colleges, housing developers, employers, and others.

Position Description

South Bronx Rising Together is seeking a facilitator for the South Bronx Early Years Collaborative to improve outcomes for young children in the community. This person will facilitate a collaborative of cross-sector partners focusing on improving outcomes for young children in Bronx Community District 3.

The Children’s Aid Society and Phipps Neighborhoods are the conveners of this partnership and the Facilitator will report to the Co-Director of SBRT at Phipps Neighborhoods. This will be a full-time role, but we are open to consulting engagements as well.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Full-time Facilitator to support the Early Years Collaborative in the South Bronx, with the following responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coordinate all aspects of the All-Collaborative meetings, support other in-person events like Learning Sessions, City-wide Summits and community learning opportunities
  • Support the development of trust and productive working relationships within the collaborative including coordinated projects and events that partners initiate, offering the high-level planning and leadership buy-in
  • Offer tactical support, including Quality Improvement related instruction and assistance, to teams on their improvement projects during Action periods
  • Working to improve the quality and quantity of school readiness data
  • Expand communication about the work of the Collaborative, among members and to other key early education stakeholders in NYC
  • Identify (or develop) and share a dynamic resource directory to help sites connect children and families to the right services at the right time with a focus on child health, mental health and developmental delays.
  • Engage parents of young children in community to engage with EYC and increase site-level parent engagement

Qualifications:

Qualifications/Experience:  

  • Excellent meeting facilitation and project management skills, including clear and concise verbal and written communications
  • Adept interpersonal skills, focusing on building relationships and resolving conflict
  • Experience with utilizing continuous quality improvement processes and methodology
  • Technologically proficient, especially in presenting data and project deliverables
  • Flexibility to respond to emerging needs

Required:

•     Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or Associate’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in early childhood or elementary education

  • Familiarity with early childhood education assessments
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff and families


Preferred:

  • Fluency in a second language commonly spoken in the community
     

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
