BeAbove Worldwide Institute Inc. is a nonprofit children’s organization that provides quality childcare for families in the Queens, Brooklyn and Bronx communities. Our schools support all aspects of children’s growth and development in a safe and nurturing environment. Our program provides comprehensive services for children and their families in keeping with the ideal that the caregiver is the child’s primary teacher. 
 

We are currently looking for highly motivated professional staff to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the school
  • Supervise classroom staff
  • Assist in hiring and training new staff members
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff
  • Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents
  • Develop educational programs and set educational standards
  • Help staff resolve conflicts between children
  • Assist staff in communicating with parents
  • Meet with parents and staff to discuss students’ progress
  • Ensure facilities are maintained and cleaned according to state/federal regulations
  • Complete required paperwork 
  • Monitor the implementation of the curriculum
  • Conduct teacher observations
  • Ongoing inspection of all classroom practices and program facilities i.e. room arrangements, lesson plans, daily routines, transitions, HR staff folders, etc. to assure their adherence to program policies
  • Work cooperatively with other component coordinators to plan education services integrated with Health, Nutrition, Mental Health, Disabilities, Family and Community Partnership, and Social Services. 

Qualifications:

Requirements for Education Director Position:

  • BA/BS degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Professional State Certification in Early Childhood Education B-2 or Disabilities ECE B-2
  • Experience working with children (infants through pre-school age). (Preferably in a childcare or school setting).
  • Strong knowledge and ability to lead faculty in implementing an appropriate developmental curriculum and new education programs.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • 2 years’ experience with appropriate age-group. (preferred)
