Description:

We are a new center based childcare located in Sunset Park. We are currently looking for lead teachers. 

Responsibilities:

Preschool Lead Teacher will plan and implement curriculum-based Common Core Learning Standards, Work Sampling , Building Blocks and the Creative Curriculum. Create and foster a developmentally appropriate learning environment; implement physical development activities and manage a classroom that provides a safe physical and emotional environment. Teacher will promote the professional growth of the classroom team; Conduct appropriate screenings and monitoring of progress; Maintain classroom records; teacher will participate in all necessary training and all staff development activities; Conduct regular parent-teacher conferences, develop and reinforce relationships with parents: Perform other classroom and child care duties as needed. Teacher will supervise classroom assistants.
 

Qualifications:

BA Teacher must have a bachelor in Early Childhood Education. We will considerate a BA degree Early Childhood teacher in college presently on a study plan. Two (2) years of paid teaching experience in a licensed preschool classroom setting is required. The applicant should be caring, energetic and be able to engage children. Teacher must meet the physical demands of the job, including walking, lifting and sitting on the floor.

Teacher must comply with DOHMH regulations including but not limited to:

  • an Aspire profile,
  • SCR background clearance
  • Fingerprint Clearance from DOI
  • Medical Clearance 
  • Mandated Reporter Training
  • Infectious Disease Control Training
  • Foundations in Health & Safety
  • Preventing Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Training
