Workshop and Professional Development Events

Use our Fall 2011 Informal Provider Professional Development Calendar to find dates and times for our professional development events.

Monthly Professional Development Workshops

These workshops are held on an ongoing basis and address a variety of topics including child development, working with families and health and safety. Each workshop is 1.5 hours long and participants earn a certificate of completion for each workshop attended.

Payment Workshops

These workshops are held twice a month at the NYC Early Childhood Professional Development Institute and other venues around the city, including ACS regional offices and HRA Job Centers. Workshops provide information on ACS payment protocols and 1 hour of professional development training. Participants receive a certificate of completion fro each professional development workshop attended.

Family Child Care Licensing Orientation

Orientations on how to apply for a Family Day Care license are help bi-monthly.

Professional Development at ACS Child and Adult Care Food Program

The Informal Family Child Care Training Project will assist the ACS Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in providing professional development workshops at quarterly CACFP training events.

Health & Safety Training (15-Hour Training)

Health & Safety training will be offered on a quarterly basis for informal providers who are applying to become licensed.
