About Colleen

Colleen is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York City and Empire State College, N.Y. with a B.A. in Arts and Early Education. She received her Master's Degree in Human Development with a Specialization in Early Childhood Studies from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA. Colleen has worked for Pacific Oaks College as a Distance Learning On-Line Assistant Professor and currently works at Beginnings Nursery School in New York City, where she has been teaching for the past fourteen years.

This academic school year, Colleen will begin a new role at Beginnings as a Separation/Attachment specialist and a support presence for children with special needs and their families. She will also begin a Ph.D. program in Human Development at Fielding Graduate University with a focus on early childhood education and end of life studies. Colleen has also worked as a photojournalist assistant and in news production. She wrote and performed in "My Hair's Falling Out...Am I Still Pretty?" a film about childhood cancer, which received A Parent's Choice Award for excellence in educational programming. Colleen enjoys music and writing, film and theater, and spending time with her son Jackson, who recently received a B.A. in Physics and Math from Grinnell College.
