About Jennifer
Jennifer Kinard teaches four and five year-olds at Bedford Stuyvesant Head Start. Prior to beginning this position, Jennifer was a Group Teacher for six years at Bishop Sexton Head Start in Brooklyn. She began her relationship with Bishop Sexton as an assistant teacher and a parent. Jennifer received a Bachelors Degree from the College of New Rochelle and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood/Special Education at Touro College. She hopes to begin a second Masters Degree program in Administration. Jennifer has provided workshops at childcare centers in Brooklyn, New York, as well as Puerto Rico. She participated in a national research project with the National Center for Early Childhood Research, and videos of her teaching will be used as exemplars for the myteachingpartner website. Jennifer sees herself as a learner, always ready for a new challenge. For her, teaching is a calling and a vehicle that allows her to share her strengths. Her goal in life is to motivate and support others. She has been married for sixteen years and is the mother of three children.
