Description:
The SYJCC is seeking a nurturing, caring individual to work as the Lead Toddler Teacher of a 2-year-old class in its large early childhood center. Essential Functions
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the ages of the children in their charge
- Promote each child’s cognitive, educational, social, cultural, physical, emotional and recreational development
- Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines, CDC and Department of Health regulations as well as following all company standards.
- Communicate directly with parents to achieve success for each child.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with all children and their families
Responsibilities:
Educational Requirements:
- AA or BA in Education or a CDA with a concentration in preschool education and one year experience in a related field working with children
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Employee must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Employee must have the ability to handle, manipulate, or control objects with hands and fingers
- Employee must have the ambulatory ability to stand, walk, sit, and reach for objects
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Employee must have visual acuity, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust vision focus
- Employee must have the ability to focus and work efficiently in an environment with low to moderate noise level
Skills and/or Experience Required:
- Experience working with young children in a child care setting
