Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision to contracted family child care providers through home visits and/or on-site group/individual trainings.
- Collaborate with the Early Head Start leadership to provide program planning and systems
- Build strong working relationships and foster a sense of community among staff of EHS collaborative programs in co-located spaces
- Provide supervision to home visiting staff and administrative staff
- Responsible for child care placement and supervision of eligibility process
- Administer the CACFP program as per NYS DOH regulations
- Assist with recruiting families and providers for the Early Head Start Program
- Recruit families through community outreach, advertisement, and presentations
- Recruit & train family child care providers
- Assist in the development and implementation of staff trainings as per the Head Start Performance Standards
- Assist the Senior Program Director with monitoring the program budget
- Maintain database and reporting systems
- Responsible for keeping up to date on all regulatory requirements including from DOE and DOH
- Be part of the EHS collaborative management team responsible for ensuring quality child care services as per Head Start Performance Standards
- Assist providers in developing a program that meets all DOH regulations and network quality standards
- Responsible for meeting all contracted obligation per funding source including Parent Group, Providers’ Group, etc.
- Provide on-going training to Family Child Care Providers
- Take an active role in identifying children with special needs and working with the EHS Special Need Coordinator to make appropriate referrals
- Assist parents in obtaining educational and social services for their families
- Maintain parents inform on any relevant issues with respect to their child, provider and network.
- Follow-up on any concerns brought to the program by parents, providers and staff.
- Maintain proper documentation on families/children and providers.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor to fulfill job responsibilities
Qualifications:
- MA in Early Childhood Education/Education with teaching certification
- At least two to three years experience in a classroom setting with infants and toddlers or preschoolers
- Knowledge of Family Child Care regulations and application process plus CACFP regulations and administration
- Experience supervising staff
- Must have excellent computer skills including knowledge of Excel and Access applications
- Excellent organization skills required.
- Ability to write and speak Chinese or Spanish preferred.
