The Family Day Care Network Director serves as an integral part of the Early Childhood management team and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the early childhood department. The Family Day Care Network Director ensures all ACS and CACFP statutory and regulatory requirements are met. Additionally, the Family Day Care Network Director develops and maintains quality standards of early childhood education designed to meet the educational, emotional, physical, and social needs of individual children in family day care homes. The Family Day Care Network Director is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision and administration of the program of service to children in family day care homes. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and supervision of such program components as preventive health and the social services, nutrition, community outreach, fiscal management and accountability, office and facilities management.
  • Recruiting and screening qualified prospective FDC providers in areas where a need has been identified.
  • Assisting parents and providers through the registration process.
  • Coordination and supervising the delivery of service by FDC providers and related staff. Maintaining a total program in education, health, nutrition, and social services to meet the needs of children served.
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships, including awareness of the particular job of each staff member and its relationship to the whole.
  • Conducting regularly scheduled meetings with participants, informal providers, and parents.
  • Conducting ongoing training for program participants related to continuing education in child care, business management and states required training for participants.
  • Serving as a liaison to City agencies such as DOH and HRA regarding program participant's registration applications.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood Education.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of college (60 Credits) plus four years of paid relevant community experience,
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in EC management or 5 years experience in a field related to child care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Early Learn
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CACFP
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. 
  • Excellent organizational ability and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and training skills. 
  • Overall flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet many deadlines. 
  • Excellent computer skills.
