Description:

We are looking for a Head Teacher Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:30 through the school year and our summer camp program.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement Best Practice and developmentally appropriate practice based on research and current developments in the Early Childhood field.
  • Ability to teach in a multi age group setting with the intention of educating the whole child.
  • Develop a curriculum based on play and hands on experiences while working collaboratively with fellow teachers.
  • Encourage discussion and learning through play throughout the day.
  • Communicate with other teachers and Director on a daily basis.
  • Observe children and differentiate learning based on children’s current abilities.
  • Foster positive relationships with families through verbal and written communication.

Qualifications:

  • Have a full understanding and love of teaching 2-3 year old children.
  • Possess the knowledge and have ability to Implement and create a progressive best practice curriculum with administrative support.
  • Manage a group of 15 children with 2 very qualified and dedicated early childhood assistants.
  • NYS Initial Certification Certification (Birth-Grade 2)
  • Working towards Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with children ages 2-5
  • Current Medical
  • Fingerprints Processed Through Identigo
  • State Central Register (SCR) Clearance
  • Mandated Reporter/ Infection Control Certificates
  • Certificate for First Aid/CPR a plus
