The successful candidate will have:
Administrative, supervisory, and teaching experience, with young children and dual-language.
A strong commitment to the mission of ECB as a neighborhood, free, private, child-centered, and dual-language school.
The vision and professional skills to serve as a founding Principal, capable of leading the school through the early phases of its growth and expansion, including but not limited to: Article 47 requirements, outfitting the school, curriculum development, faculty/staff hiring, student recruitment, etc..
The personal strength and interpersonal skills to be an effective spokesperson and enthusiastic representative for ECB in the community.
Strong leadership to attract, guide, and collaborate with the faculty and staff of the ECB.
Genuine excitement for the promise of ECB and the community of which it will be a part.
The head of school will be primarily responsible for:
As the Lead Educator and Administrator of the school, actualizes, supports teachers, staff, parents, community partners, and students understand and implement the educational vision of ECB
Attends to the intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth of each child and partners with faculty and each child’s family in these efforts.
Builds, trains, supports and manages a highly qualified and effective faculty and staff.
Actively manages ECB’s educational program, operating finances, daily operations, facility,
administrative staff and duties.
Builds goodwill and support for the school through active engagement of families and community partners.
Works collaboratively with the Board of Directors and Committee Members to advance the mission of the school, report progress and the status of key initiatives and performance
indicators and to grow support for ECB as an institution.
Other duties as required for the successful operation of the school.
The successful candidate will have:
Fluency in Spanish and English
Experience with dual language education and curriculum
In depth understanding of early childhood development and child centered educational practices
Familiarity with Community Based Organizations
Appropriate professional certification
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Administrative, supervisory, and teaching experience
Demonstrated school leadership skills
Advanced educational degree (master’s or higher)
