All responsibilities and duties are under the direct supervision of the Center Director.
The Pre-K Head Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing an age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate classroom daily routine and curriculum that meets and supports the needs of children.
The Pre-K Head Teacher ensures the health and safety of all children within the context of a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment.
The Pre-K Head Teacher provides a consistent routine and daily schedule that provides a sense of stability, consistency and positive guidance in the classroom environment.
-Effective classroom management skills to provide daily routines, transitions, and overall management of the classroom.
-Provide close supervision of children and all activities taking place in the classroom.
-Implement a well-rounded classroom curriculum to include daily literacy, music, art, gym, and sensory activities.
-Work with parents to provide daily communication, and promote a sense of community in the classroom.
-Promote all health and safety standards relating to CUNY, NYCDOH, CDC and daily cleanliness of the classroom environment.
-Team player in promoting and marketing the Center within the larger college community.
-Maintain classroom documentation related to daily attendance, health checks, CACFP regulations.
-Participate in meetings and professional development opportunities.
-Other activities and duties as assigned by the Center Director.
Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education
Must be NYS Certified/ and New York State B-2 Certification.
Current enrollment in a Masters Program with pending Certification
Minimum of two (2) years experience working in an Early Childhood setting.
Able to pick-up and carry young children, walk stairs, sit on floor with children.
