Center-Based Teachers Competencies –
Teachers must demonstrate competency to provide effective & nurturing teacher-child interactions, plan/implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation & use of assessment, and promote children’s progress across the standards described in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five and NYS Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) early learning & development standards, including for children with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, minimum of one year working with infants and toddlers. CDA specific to infant toddler development (to be offered on site, and obtained within 15 months of employment)
Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to use computer database, email, virtual learning platforms
Reliable means of personal transportation and valid New York State driver’s license.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and agility required to move at children’s level including bending, squatting, and kneeling.
