Description:

The Ridgewood YMCA is seeking a Program Director, who will report to and works closely with the Senior Program Director to develop and execute a wide range of services and program activities. The Program Director will provide leadership to building a program portfolio that meets the current and future needs of the Ridgewood Y’s communities in addition to developing and managing the components of creating the best Youth Programs which includes the overall development, administration, supervision and evaluation of the youth arts & sports enrichment, Y Afterschool, Summer Day Camp & Teen Development Programs. 

The incumbent will be responsible for the overall budget, program development/marketing, administration, and supervision/evaluation of staff and volunteers. 

Responsibilities:

Program Experience

  • Demonstrate the YMCA values in all contacts with staff, program members, volunteers, City and Government Agencies and members of the community. Oversee and monitor transactions regarding camp, Program Participants and other payments within Salesforce/AS 400.  
  • Respond to all inquiries that are presented in person, via phone calls and from the web site to create a positive member/participant experience.

Program Development and Execution 

  • Plan, develop and promote new and innovative programs and activities and special events that meet the needs of the community in alignment with the Branch Priority Goals and Objectives and Strategic Plan.
  • Adhere to all Department of Health Regulations and Procedures.  
  • Complete monthly reports, and program outcome reports.
  • Maintain registration, attendance, surveys and questionnaires and comply with YMCA, SAAC, DOE, and DOH requirements/standards.

Staff and Volunteer Development

  • Hire, train, develop, supervise and evaluate part time employees and volunteers. 
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and provide professional development opportunities.  
  • Maintain certifications, facilitate/attend YMCA trainings and all necessary branch senior team meetings and Board Meetings as required.

Financial Management

  • Successfully meet budget objectives (Develop and Manage).
  • Prepare and monitor program budgets, payroll and other fiscal tasks as required.
  • Monitor purchase and inventory of program equipment/supplies.
  • Participate in Annual Campaign through leadership roles in fundraising initiatives.
  • Organize and run special events.
  • Other activities and duties as needed that address the ongoing health and well-being of our staff and members.
  • Maintain sanitary habits in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of developing and implementing youth programs, adult programs; staff training and development.
  • Experience in marketing and budgeting skills.
  • Valid CPR, First Aid, AED Training. 
  • Experience in SACC Licensing Procedures.
  • Knowledge of youth/adolescent growth and development.
  • Knowledge of AS400, Budgeting, Public Policy, Grant Writing a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • It is a Monday to Friday work schedule, however some weekends and/or evenings would need to be work for MOD shifts or any special branch programing.
