Description:

We are looking for an education director for our daycare center located in Brooklyn, NY 11207. Our ideal site director has strong leadership skills, is an excellent communicator, and has excellent computer and organizational skills. Our director should have a positive and upbeat attitude, while working in a fast-paced environment, highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, a deep love for children and a strong commitment to education. Strong computer, verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • overseeing all preschool operations including human resources and facility operations
  • manage licensing and credentialing requirements as necessary according to Article 47 and DOE guidelines for 3K and PreK programs
  • Positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Deep love for children and a strong commitment to education.
  • Assist in all license renewals, applications for various programs, RFP documentation, having valid certifications on file/display
  • Student enrollment process for programs from Infant/Toddler to 3K/PreK
  • Following up with different city agencies regarding voucher enrollments and recertification paperwork, and submitting voucher applications and recertifications as necessary.
  • Communication with DOH and DOE – health inspectors as well as Educational consultants
  • Managing DECE, Protraxx, and other accounts established for the school
  • Maintain classroom organization charts and tuition files
  • Help maintain staff files and all necessary trainings, medical forms, etc. and all staff clearances
  • Keeping and communicating all students’ monthly attendances and other operational processes to the owners
  • Communication with offices of ACS, OCFS, NYC DOHMH, NYC DOE, FDNY, etc. when necessary
  • Marketing for the daycare, including open houses, flyers and business card distribution, phone calls and in-person visits to various child-related organizations, local schools, pediatric offices, etc. maintaining community relations, including familiarity with community resources; engaging in outreach and networking
  • Receive all necessary certifications such as CPR, Food Protection, Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems and Fire Drill Conductor
  • Overseeing and overall operation of the centers, including but not limited to financial management
  • Creating and helping managers/directors implement paper records of child behavior, health conditions, and development of each child, providing program planning and referrals
  • Facilitating various educational and advisory programs pertinent to managing staff members and staff at the daycare
  • Assisting in all areas of hiring and recruitment of staff for all level of jobs.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • NYS teaching certification
  • Experience working with children in a daycare or similar setting
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with children, parents/guardians, and staff members
  • Ability to handle behavioral issues with patience, empathy, and professionalism
  • Knowledgeable of Article 47 and other NYC Department of Health licensing/credentialing issues.
  • Proficiency in program management software or tools
  • Strong computer, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Work as a team with the owners and managers/directors of the sites
Minimum Education Level: NYS Teacher Certification
Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
