Breaking down the Myths of Self-Care: Diversifying our Wellness Practices for Early Childhood Leaders

This virtual panel will offer diverse perspectives on how to break down common myths of self-care, which can be rooted in sexism, racism and other oppressive systems.  This panel will discuss more inclusive strategies, to reduce burnout, promote wellness, and supports for building resiliency to effectively lead your early childhood program. We will learn from the experiences and perspectives of an assistant professor in human development and education, mindfulness and education consultant, meditation instructor, and social worker.  Our panelists will also share their career pathways and what has led them to this work.  Attendees will walk away with important considerations and strategies for leadership, program culture, health and well-being, and resiliency in caring for staff, children and families.
